Meet some key members of our team:
Andy is responsible for stakeholder relations and business development for our product range. Prior to joining the Admissions Testing team, Andy worked for the organisation as Regional Manager for the examinations in Central, Eastern and South East Europe. Before this, Andy was Student Services Manager for an English language school, where he managed the welfare of overseas students. Andy has a BA in Geography and a Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing.
Steven is responsible for managing the Assessment team and their work on the development and production of all admissions tests. Prior to joining the team, Steven held a number of different positions within the organisation. These included responsibilities for the development and production of teaching qualifications for teachers of English, managing international education reform projects and leading the East Asia team in Beijing. Steven holds an MA in Applied Linguistics and English Language Teaching from King’s College, London, as well as a first degree in Literary Studies.
Paul is responsible for the development and production of our thinking skills and behavioural styles assessments. Prior to joining the team, Paul worked in another part of the organisation, where he was responsible for the development and production of tests of general and business English. Paul holds an MSc in Philosophy from the University of Edinburgh, a first-class BA (Hons) degree in Philosophy from the University of Hull and an MA in Applied Linguistics and TESOL from Anglia Ruskin University.
Mark is responsible for assessment development, evaluation and validation. Mark began his career as a technical photographer, and studied Education and Biological Sciences at the University of Cambridge. He went on to teach in London and Cambridge before taking up a post as an educational researcher at Cambridge Assessment in 2001. Having worked on the development of the BioMedical Admissions Test (BMAT) as a research project, Mark was recruited to Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing in 2004. Mark gained an MSc. in Social Research Methods in 2005.
Tori is responsible for ensuring that service delivery on products meets customer needs and expectations. Prior to joining the team, Tori ran a customer service team in the commercial education sector, providing admissions services to a range of schools and university centres in three countries. Before this, she worked for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Tori studied Classics at the University of Cambridge and Arabic at the Diplomatic Service Language Centre.
Kevin is responsible for co-ordinating research activities essential to the quality of our tests. He is a chartered psychologist with research specialisms in measurement, critical thinking and higher education pedagogy. Prior to joining the group, Kevin lectured in Individual Differences and Quantitative Research Methods at Loughborough University, and Social Psychology at Birmingham City University. His previous research focused on plagiarism in academic writing, scale development and reasoning strategies. His current research interests include the construct validity of admissions tests, non-cognitive assessment for higher education and the role of testing in multi-method selection processes.
