Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing
Administering our tests
Our research shows a positive relationship between BMAT scores and on-course success. Low BMAT scores have also been shown to be a predictor of students who perform poorly on the course or fail to complete their degree.
Are you selecting from a large pool of international applicants, with a wide range of qualifications? An admissions test is the only way you can compare all applicants.
Our admissions tests provide all applicants with an opportunity to show their potential. This is particularly important for those who might not have achieved highly, due to external factors.
Thinking skills such as problem solving and critical thinking are essential to university study. These skills are not shown discretely by academic grades. Our subject-specific admissions tests reveal how applicants apply the knowledge they have learned to unfamiliar contexts, providing evidence of in-depth subject understanding. Writing tasks in our tests show how the applicant can express themselves concisely and fluently – essential for university study.
We are a part of Cambridge Assessment, a not-for-profit department of the University of Cambridge. As an educational organisation, we share your institution’s educational vision. We have been working with world-leading universities in the UK, as well as universities and ministries internationally, for over 10 years.
Rigorous test development processes mean that our tests conform to the highest quality standards. This ensures fairness for all applicants, whatever their background, gender, nationality or culture.
To ensure our tests provide a valid indicator of an applicant’s potential to succeed, a dedicated team carries out routine operational analysis and ongoing validation research. The outcomes from this research feed into a continuous cycle of improvement.
We work closely with you to ensure an assessment meets your specific requirements: through trials and pilots, or bespoke research projects focusing on your applicants and students.
Students can take our admissions tests across the world, in nearly 3,000 test centres in over 100 countries.
We work with you to manage the whole process of admissions testing, helping to make efficiencies in your administrative processes.
We work with you to adapt to local requirements – for example, we produce tests in other languages.
